I also wanted to talk a little about those of you who may not be able to afford my services and prices. I would love for the whole class of ‘09 to receive top quality, modern, chic, custom senior portraits but my prices are set where they are to ensure that I will be able to continue to offer everyone in Tishomingo and surronding areas top of the line custom portraiture for years to come. But, I understand that times are rough right now, financially, for most which is why I offer payment plans.  Secondly I want to talk about Christmas Portrait sessions. I thought long and hard about exactly how I wanted to conduct Christmas portrait sessions, exactly what I wanted to offer, and even if I really wanted to even offer Christmas portrait sessions this holiday season. So, here is what I have come up with. 

Unfortunately due to a very busy schedule I haven’t had to time to put much thought into what I wanted to do regarding Christmas Portrait specials until recently and which in turn has put me into a very small window of time to be able to do sessions and ensure that print orders are received by Christmas. So, I finally decided that I was just going to have to sit down and get it all figured out, whether I had the time to or not, or just not offer Christmas portrait sessions at all. So, here is a quick summary of what I have decided to do.     

1) I have tried to put together at least one collection that would appeal to all potential clients, with the hopes of giving most everyone the opportunity get receive the luxury of custom portrait photography this holiday season. And in the next day or two I will post another blog that will go in depth about the collections and all prices for the Christmas special.     

2) All sessions will be “mini” sessions, meaning that they will be approx. 30min long and the session will consist of  3 different poses; the family all together, the parents together; the children together. I will have an option for you to receive individual portraits of the children which will incur an additional fee which in turn will increase the length of the portrait session to approx. 1 hour.     

3) The dates that will be dedicated to the Christmas special sessions will be: Nov. 15th; Nov. 22nd; and Nov. 29th… the day of Nov. 29th will be reserved for those that are looking to purchase prints only and don’t require that Christmas cards be mailed out prior to Christmas as I cannot guarantee the purchase of Christmas cards will be delivered with ample time for you to mail and/or hand them out to family and friends prior to Christmas. Also, with these end of the season dates I will not be offering albums, custom jewelry, any of the couture handbags or gallery wrap canvases or any other specialty items except for Greeting cards  until after the rush of the holiday season is over. I also cannot guarantee that anything other then your PRINT order will be delivered prior to Christmas. Those who book their sessions for the 15th and the 22nd will receive their Christmas card order approx. 2 weeks after they place their order. And to ensure that all proofs are presented to you in a timely manner I will be booking only 3 portrait sessions on the day of the 29th. On Nov. 15th and Nov. 22nd I will be excepting a maximum of 6 bookings per day. In doing this I will be able to ensure that your proofs are presented to you in a timely manner, along with your print order. The deadline to place your print order will be December 10th if you wish to receive your order prior to Christmas. The deadline to place your Christmas Card order will be December 3rd since I will have to spend some time putting together the design of the cards and get your approval of the design prior to placing the order.     

4) All sessions will be conducted in the studio. Absolutely NO on location sessions will be booked after Nov. 14th. If you wish to have your Christmas portraits shot on location then please contact me ASAP to schedule your session PRIOR to Nov. 15th If you wish to have a Christmas portrait session prior to these dates you will need to schedule a standard portrait session at  standard rates. If you wish to book a standard portrait session then please call or email me atleast 2 weeks prior to when you wish to have your session.

Please understand that the time it takes to process proofs, place order, receive orders and schedule conflicts are the reasons that after the 29th of November I will no longer be taking any Christmas portrait sessions.

Maternity- must be willing to do semi-nude portraits and be between 7-8 months pregnant.

Newborn- must be less then 2 weeks old (so they are still in that sleepy stage) and willing to do diaperless portraits

 a model release will be required. You will recieve a free 16×20 with your portrait order. Portrait orders must meet the minimum of $200. Also, daddy and siblings are more then welcome to participate in the session.

 Getting artistic in photoshop. That’s right, I’m steering away from my normal clean post processing and learning new ways to process photos to really bring out the “feel” of the photo. But don’t worry, I will still be proofing in my normal clean processing but you can expect to have some of them processed artistically.

 Right now I am working on that vintage retro feel. I don’t have many photos that work well with this type of processing but have found a few killer locations that would work great with this look. But, here is one photo to show you what I’m talking about.

I want to give a HUGE shout out to Dan Brouillette (one of the top Senior portrait photographers in the industry, right there at top with Brianna Graham… He’s actually very good friends with Brianna. I’m so jealous). He has always been so generous with me and once again graciously helped me and gave me guidence on how to achieve the above look. So, THANK YOU DAN!!
